Pretty Dress Form

I really want a dress form. I'm not sure why, I just think they are a cool conversation piece. Although it would be really cool if I could actually make clothes with it. One day I'll have one, and I'm sure Andy will hate it!

Annoying "Celebrities"

You know who they are (or if you are one of the lucky ones, you don't..as it SHOULD be)..these people have no real talent, are essentially making millions for no reason. Famous merely by association, whether it be parentage or friendship..These are my least favorite "celebrities"...

1. Heidi and Spencer..staged paparazzi shots..enough said

2. The Gosselin's..they continue to move up on the list..I actually used to be a big fan, but their actions speak much louder than their words
3. Miley Cyrus..ok, so at least she is famous for something, and some may argue that she is talented..but that doesn't mean she's not super annoying and cringe worthy (in my opinion)
4. Did I mention Heidi and Spencer? I think they deserve to spots on the list.
5. I could think of many other people to fill this spot, but which annoying "celebrity" do you think should make the list?

Updates..

I feel like I haven't had any time to blog lately. I miss reading all of your blogs! I'm back at school, starting student teaching this week! I am excited but a little nervous. Posting might be a little sporadic while I adjust to my new schedule, but I'm sure I'll get into the swing of things soon. It's so nice to be back at school. This place is such a home to me and I can't imagine leaving it forever in just four short months. I'm secretly happy that I had to stay an extra semester and be a super senior..if only tuition were free! Thanks for all your sweet comments about our anniversary. We didn't do anything special since our trip to Chicago replaced gifts to each other. I'm going to enjoy my last moments of freedom before the stress of student teaching hits. Bye! (Is it weird that I'm from Ohio and want to say see ya'll later?..I think you Southern bloggers are rubbing off on me!)

Before..

Before I met Andy..
I hated hockey.
I had no idea what an F-22 was.
I had never been to Boston (his hometown).
I couldn't name any Red Sox players.
I had no idea what a frappe or jimmies were.
I didn't care about the weather forecast.
I only went to warm beaches.
I didn't swear like a hockey player!
I never had so many nicknames for myself.
I never thought about the future.
I never knew what love was.

Amazing how things change in 5 years! Love you bubs! Happy Anniversary!

First month of dating..

Wednesday Wonderings

So we talked about our least favorite designers..but who is your favorite?

I think for everyday my faves are Michael Kors and Diane von Furstenberg but for high fashion I love Christophe Decarnin for Balmain.

A note to fall..

Dear fall,

I'm ready for your cooler weather so I can bust out my scarves, boots, and jackets! Today was too hot and humid. I would really like to hear leaves crunching under my feet. I would also love to eat some pumpkin pie. So would you please hurry up? Thanks!

Love, Lindsay

Holy Crow!

Here is the newest trailer for New Moon for you fellow Twilight lovers. Edward. Jacob. yum. But who is more yummy? Don't make me answer! Ps..Andy, don't worry you are still the most yummy :) Pps..If you don't read Twilight, don't think I'm weird for saying holy crow, it's a weird Bella thing that annoys me.

A Weekend in The Windy City..

I am back from my whirlwind trip to Chicago! Andy and I had a blast. We visited Millennium Park, Navy Pier, Willis (formerly known as Sears) Tower, Magnificent Mile, celebrated my 22nd birthday on Saturday, walked along the river, tried deep dish pizza (Andy did anyways) cruised the river on an architectural tour, and went to the Harry Potter exhibition (I know, I know, I'm 22). I fell in love with this city and can't wait to go back someday!

My favorite things were the bean, the ledge on Willis Tower, and just walking around the city. I am already dreaming of another trip there to explore more of the city. Thanks for all of your tips and suggestions, they were extremely helpful!

Tag!

Andi from Kelly Green and Navy tagged me to list "Things that make me feel sexy" (blush). I'm going to view this as "Things that make me feel confident" because to me, feeling sexy means having confidence.

Here are the rules

- Write 5 things that make you feel sexy
- Post a pic (only if you dare)
- Pass it on to 5 lovely bloggers

1. When I am dressed up for a night out with some sexy heels.

2. Dressing up for class rather than wearing sweats.

3. Getting hugs and kisses from Andy.

4. Showing off a good tan.

5. Good hair days.

You are probably wondering why I chose such a terrible quality, non sexy picture. Firstly, I feel like posting a picture of myself in which I think I look sexy is a tad "myspace". Secondly, this picture makes me laugh because I have good memories from this night. I wanted to do the famous Beatles walk, but my friends refused, so I did it by myself (which you can see). Also I love my boots!

I tag:

Holly from Zucchero, Zucchero

Nicole from La Mia Vita

Allison from La Dolce Vita

Kelly from Just a Girl in a City

Tracy from Then I got to thinking..

Can't wait to hear your answers ladies!

Chicago wardrobe

I'm busy packing and planning my clothes for Chicago. I was playing around with Polyvore to help plan some cute outfits. Here is what I came up with so far. It's hard trying to find items that you have, or that look close to something in my closet!

For sightseeing, I want to wear something light and comfortable, but still fashionable and functional.
sightseeing

Andy and I will definitely be taking part in Chicago night life. I want to wear something that's not too dressy, but not casual either so we could try out a few different places but still be dressed properly.
night life

And let's be real..I'm not going to take 6 different purses and shoes..not even close. But it's fun to dream right? Any other suggestions of what to wear/bring?

Wednesday Wonderings

What iconic handbag would you love to have?iconic
Might it be the Chanel 2.55? The Louis Vuitton Speedy? Hermes Birkin? Or perhaps something else?
I have to go with the Chanel. Maybe someday!

I wish..

I could wear pop cans in my hair and look glamorous like Ashley.

Office Redo

Stefanie over at Stefanie Grace asked for my advice on how to update her desk area. Let's start with some inspiration photos.

Some tips:
1. Less is more (minimize clutter and just keep basic needs on your desk)
2. Re-purpose household items to dress up and store everyday items (use an antique vase to hold pencils, a pretty saucer to hold paperclips etc.)
3. Choose 1-2 accent colors
4. Make sure the desk area is used to it's full potential..organize drawers, use a cork or magnet board to catch important notes or inspiration, and eliminate items that are not used
5. Storage is key. Use photo boxes to store important papers, bills, etc. If you do not have drawers, hang floating shelves to store extra items.

These are items I would incorporate into my office. Hope this helps Stefanie! Please show us your before and after photos!

Coco Chanel quotes

I really enjoy quotes. They can be inspirational and entertaining and I like that they can turn into a mantra for your life. Coco Chanel has said many memorable things, and I recently stumbled upon quotes of hers that I had never heard before and I loved every one. These are my favorites..

Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.

In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.

Fashion fades, only style remains the same.

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.

A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.

The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.

There are people who have money and people who are rich.

What are some of your favorite quotes?

Yay!

Finally!! Taylor Momsen (Little J) looks normal again! Here she is on the set (of Gossip Girl) and I am so happy that her hair is actually styled, and her makeup actually looks good. I'm not really digging the shoes, and the dress could be an inch longer, but it's all about the face! I wonder how long this will last. I'll be really sad if I see this hair again:

Capucine

Have you heard of Capucine? Well if you haven't, let her introduce herself..

Capucine for Edurelief in Mongolia from Capucha on Vimeo.

Capucine is one of the most recent children to become a you tube sensation and I am in love! If you watched the video you know that Capucine and her mom, Anne are teaming up with Edurelief to sell t-shirts, magnets, and buttons with Capucine's adorable illustrations to raise money for Capucine's Library for children in Mongolia.

See more Capucine cuteness here.

I'm buying a shirt right away, and I hope you do too. Everyone deserves the chance for a rich education!

This is my favorite one.. "The problem is that I love you."

Best Kept Secret..

Ok so I'm about to admit something kind of gross and I'm only telling you this so that I can let anyone and everyone know the best kept secret. I had two warts..one on my finger and one on my foot. I've never had a wart my whole life until these two stubborn beasts came along. The wart (ew I hate this word) on my foot has been there probably three years. I've had it VERY painfully frozen off with liquid nitrogen (that didn't work), and I tried compound W (that worked a bit, but never removed the root of the wart). I pretty much accepted that these warts were staying with me for awhile until they decided they were ready to leave. Until I stumbled upon a blog about home remedies. I researched the use of apple cider vinegar for warts and saw TONS of testimonials swearing it works, so I thought I'd give it a shot. People, in two days the wart on my finger was gone! GONE! It burned a bit, but I'd take that over getting another liquid nitrogen treatment any day. Why don't the dermatologists and doctors tell people this? I'm still battling the wart on my foot because it is in an awkward spot under my toe and hard to keep the cotton ball and band-aid secure. I'm not really sure about the science involved but the vinegar kills the wart all the way to the root so basically it just falls off like dead skin. It does peel your skin away a bit around the wart, but it heals back up in a day or so. I used some Neosporin as an extra precaution.

So here's what you do:
1. soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar (or you can use the end of a q-tip)
2. secure it onto the wart using duct tape or a band-aid
3. make sure it is covering only the wart, or as little skin as possible
4. wait (I kept mine on most of the day because I was desperate to see results..but I let my skin air out for a couple of hours too)

Check out this website for details and find more testimonials here. Find more uses for apple cider vinegar here.

So if you have a wart, or two, and have tried everything..you MUST try apple cider vinegar. If you have tried this before, please share your experiences!

After trying this with such great results I'm really interested in researching more home remedies. Any recommendations?

Window Seats

I would love to have a window seat with a pretty view. I would sit there all the time and read books, or drink a cup of hot cocoa. Someday.

6 little things..

Ashley from Polka Dots and Paisley tagged me (forever ago) to list 6 things that make me happy. So here they are..finally!

1. Being in a bookstore..I love the smell and the excitement of finding a new book
2. Smelling the ocean for the first time when you go on a beach vacation.
3. Getting packages in the mail (I just received my giveaway present from Jamie at My Baking Addiction and I can't wait to use all of the goodies. Thanks again Jamie!
4. Making a new playlist and singing really loud in my car without caring who sees me
5. Going on a date with Andy
6. Chocolate, ice cream, and cookies

I'm supposed to tag 6 people to do this but you know how that goes..so feel free to play along!
