I woke up with a fever this morning, so I missed my kiddo's Halloween party at school. Right now I'm watching this, drinking some tea, and cuddling up under the blankets. Hopefully I can make it out tomorrow night!

Joys of blogging..

Right now I feel like I have to blog for the sake of blogging. I hate that. I mean it's not like people are sitting waiting at their computer for me to post, so why do I feel pressured to have a post out all the time? I wish I could sit at my computer and just ramble about my life like some people do and make it seem so interesting. But I'm just a short, sweet, simple-and-to-the-point kinda gal. One thing I do like about blogging is that it makes me reflect on my experiences to see if there is anything worth posting about. Here's a sweet little nugget:

One of my second grade boys: "Gosh Miss M. it must be hard being a teacher! Everyone is calling your name, and then there's people on the other side of the room who need help, and I need help, and it's crazy".

Yes, my sentiments exactly. Teaching IS hard, but so much fun, and totally worth all the work. I can't imagine leaving my students in December :(

Now I have to list 7 things about myself..I've done this a few times so I will try to think of something different.

1. I am a huge freeze baby. I am literally always cold!!
2. I hate buying things full price.
3. I have to eat the second I wake up in the morning. I also can never fall back to sleep once I am awake.
4. I despise buying bras and tennis shoes.
5. I sing all the time. In public too! I can't even help it! Its a complete subconscious activity, and I can switch between two songs in a second.
6. I read books over and over again.
7. I hate folding clothes.

Weekend

The weekend started yesterday for me! My school didn't have Columbus Day off, but we have Friday off. It's a much needed break. My huge (and only) project for student teaching is due Monday so I'm trying to wrap it all up. My sister and Mom are coming to visit this weekend. Lots of shopping, eating, and catching up are in store. Now I'm going to frantically clean my pigsty of an apartment! Be back Monday! Have a good weekend!

Leggings Rant

Can leggings just go away already? They aren't fashionable! They were trendy about 3 years ago, yet for some reason women still insist on wearing them. Just do a google search of leggings and all of the pictures will be from a few years ago...and of Lindsay Lohan..enough said. I can somewhat tolerate them if they are ankle length but anything else is just awful. I guess it's also fine to be worn during workouts. But ladies, please remember that LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS!!!!!! phew..glad that's off my chest

While I'm ranting I might add that I'm boycotting Forever 21. I'm sick of wearing cheap knockoffs in a terrible quality, and seeing a million girls out at the bar wearing the same thing. The last couple time I've even gone into the store I haven't seen anything that interested me. I feel as if the designs have been the same for the past 3 years. So over it.

GAH! What trend do you hate that just won't go away?

What I love about teaching second grade...

-When you walk into the room after you've been gone, they act as if it is Christmas morning
-When they leave at the end of the day, the wave wildly out of the bus window with huge grins on their faces as if they did not spend all day with you
-They regularly compliment your shoes and accessories
-They think you are funny
-They think you know everything
-They love to get hugs
-You get to see the excitement on their faces when they finally understand something
-They share some VERY interesting stories
-They love to learn
-They make you love notes and drawings


I couldn't imagine doing anything else..
