Simple Arrangement

Sometimes arranging flowers intimidates me. This collection makes such a statement, yet is so simple and pretty. I love the gathering of the unique bottles. Perfect.

Weekend

This weekend went by nice and slow. Friday night my sister drove in from Indy. We went to see New Moon together (and proceeded to get cut by a nice group of people). It was great! I have a few minor nitpicks, but overall I felt that everything in the book was captured nicely. Saturday we spent shopping, which ended in us buying a HUGE picture from Ikea (from the as is section, so no returns or exchanges) that would not fit in her car. So we are standing in the parking lot cracking up, freaking out, and sort of clueless of what to do. This older couple wanders over, and tries to help us. We maneuver this picture every which way and it just won't fit. So they offer to take it in their truck. Well I live far from Ikea, so the picture ended up in my friend's apartment. Needless to say, this picture better make a statement once it is up on my sister's wall. Oh the memories! This morning started off much more relaxing..catching up on my favorite blogs, enjoying some yummy waffles and home fries prepared by Andy, and procrastinating heading to the gym and grading papers. This two-day week will be nice, and I'll be heading home on Tuesday! Happy Sunday!

This & That

Project Runway finale tonight! This season has just been meh, but I'm rooting for Carol Hannah.

I'm going to see New Moon tomorrow! You better believe I'd be at the theater tonight if I didn't have to teach tomorrow. One of my girl students today told me that two of my boy students are in love with me and want to marry me. They are so presh! I can't wait for next week (only 2 days of school). I could use a nice long break at home!

Bookshelves

At the rate my book collection is growing, I am going to need bookshelves in every room of my house. I don't have a problem with that, and I love bookshelves in unexpected places.

Uhhh

So I get home from school today, check my fave gossip sites, and stumble upon this gem..Cue the B-Spears "Oops I Did It Again".

First thought: that jacket is something my grandma would wear on Christmas eve (with a turtleneck on).

Second thought: Why Blake, Why?!

Third thought: I better see what the fug girls have to say about this..Sure enough, they do not disappoint..loving their new nickname for her..Boobs Legly

So please tell me your thoughts..Do you love it or hate it? Could she have pulled it off if there were simply a camisole there? Is it the up-do that is making this jacket so mother of the bride?

Adventures in Teaching

I had a really inappropriate giggle outburst in front of my class on Friday..So we were just reading a book about Pilgrims. One of my students asked where the Pilgrims landed in America. I answered that their goal was to land in Virgina but the storm took them of course which is why they landed in Massachusetts. His response "WOAH". This wasn't just an ordinary woah. This was Joey Lawrence, Blossom style, woah. I absolutely lost it! Which resulted in my whole class cracking up and screaming Miss M!!!! What's so funny!! This lasted approximately 5 minutes. Good thing my cooperating teacher was not in the room. It was so hard to pull myself together with 20 giggling faces looking at you. Just in case you never watched Blossom..

Week Roundup

I know I said I was going to post more this week, but then life got so busy..so here is a snippet of things I enjoyed/did this week:

Thursday was my first experience in parent teacher conferences..It was interesting and long..I didn't get home until 9! I get to do it next week too..sigh

Do any of you watch Survivor? Is it just me or is this season a predictable snorefest?
I can't get my mind off the pumpkin pie bites I saw on Bakerella awhile ago..I must make them for Thanksgiving!

Today I'm meeting up with my old roommate, who I haven't seen in months! Were going out to lunch and shopping. I could use some serious girl time! Have a good weekend!

Harper's Bazaar chose THIS photo as the cover? Is it just me, or does this picture look like it was taken at one of those cheesy photo places in the mall or Wal-mart? You know, besides the fact that Kristen Stewart actually looks done up.

Rough day of student teaching. I can't wait til I have my own classroom. I can survive this. Only 46 days til graduation, and 34 days of teaching!

ps..my fever is gone..and I'm feeling much better..but I wasn't able to go out on Halloween..I promise I will come up with some better posts soon!
