Our Proposal

I met Andy when I was just fifteen years old. We were both touring France with our high schools (he hailed from Boston, and I came from Cleveland). It wasn't love at first sight, but screen names were exchanged, and a friendship was created. Boyfriends and girlfriends came and went, but Andy was always there. When I broke up with an ex he even asked if it was because of Andy (it was). Almost an entire year later, we convinced our wacky parents to let us meet up again. I think the fact that my friend and his friend, who were also on the trip, joined us, softened the blow a bit. After a few days in Ohio, we flew back to Boston with them.  First kisses were shared, and tears were shed on the plane ride home. Somehow I managed to fall in love with a boy who lived hundreds of miles away. Needless to say, Boston is a special place for us. Lots of memories and trips, while we dated long distance for a few years.

With all of our history in Boston, you would think I would have predicted a proposal coming a mile away. Not the case! I actually didn't even have a clue until that morning, when he was acting a bit off. Still I wasn't convinced. We headed off to one of my favorite charming little towns called Newburyport. We shopped around for a bit, found my perfect souvenir ornament, grabbed a bagel and a hot chocolate, then walked along the water. When I caught him smiling to himself, I knew something was definitely up. We sat on a bench for awhile, talking of nothing in particular. I was just beginning to doubt my instincts, when he pulled out the ring and got down on one knee, and simply asked me if I would marry him. I burst into tears, and of course screamed YES! Seeing my grandmother's diamond, on a ring that Andy selected just for me is impossible to describe. I still can't stop staring at it!

Believe me, I've heard lots of opinions on meeting my boyfriend at "such a young age". But what they don't know is that Andy has been there for every important milestone, and I couldn't imagine a more perfect person to stand at my side. I want to thank you for all of your kind words and good wishes. I am very excited to get started with the planning, and will definitely be needing all of your input and advice!

I'm Engaged!

I am beyond thrilled to tell you that Andy popped the question while we were in Boston last week! I left with a boyfriend, and came home with a FIANCÉE!! I can't wait to share all of the details and a full trip recap, but this girl needs some rest!
