The Alexander Wang Braid

You all know about my long time obsession with the Wang braid. I've tried, and failed, many times to achieve this elusive look. I'm loving this tutorial from Rachel Zoe's amazing hair stylist Joey. Maybe once my hair grows out I can finally master my beloved side braid!

I wish I had the face shape to pull off full bangs. I learned my lesson the hard way in sixth grade, but it can't stop me from dreaming...

If I had my way, my hair would be in the famous Wang braid every day of my life. 

Unfortunately, my hair does not agree with me. I'd gladly settle for any of these pretty braids.

Hair Smoothie

I've been mildly obsessed with Jillian Harris' hair since she was first on the Bachelor. When she posted a recipe for her hair smoothie, I was intrigued... I'm willing to try anything that will give me Jillian-ish hair. 

Ingredients:

1 banana

2 tbsp olive oil

1 egg

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp plain yogurt

Blend ingredients together and apply to towel dried hair. Cover it up with a shower cap and wait an hour. 

I'll admit, this is pretty messy, (maybe because I used a grocery bag instead of a shower cap, woops!) and I had to have my sister help me. I was nervous my hair would smell like eggs or be too oily, but post-rinse it smelled nice, mostly of bananas. This little smoothie has a huge payoff. My hair was smooth and shiny, and felt great for the entire week. I will definitely be working this into my monthly beauty routine. If you have an hour to spare this weekend, try it out!

Pretty Pony
