Spreading the Love

One of the things I love about blogging is that there are always new (or old) blogs to discover. Here are some of my new-ish favorites that I thought I would pass along.

Lisa is a celebrity makeup artist, and I feel like I've learned more from her in two weeks than I have in two years watching other youtube tutorials. I can't wait to try out her Cheryl Cole look. 

Danielle makes me want to move to Chicago (and right into her apartment-it's amazing!) 

I'm always excited to see a new post from Lindsay. I adore her skin care tips of the day and diy's!

Oh My Gosh!

After almost 2 years of having a blog, I have found how to search within a blog! It's right up there!!! All the way to the left, in the top navy bar..See it? How was it so hard for me to see the magnifying glass in the white box? Please tell me I am not alone in this?!

Joys of blogging..

Right now I feel like I have to blog for the sake of blogging. I hate that. I mean it's not like people are sitting waiting at their computer for me to post, so why do I feel pressured to have a post out all the time? I wish I could sit at my computer and just ramble about my life like some people do and make it seem so interesting. But I'm just a short, sweet, simple-and-to-the-point kinda gal. One thing I do like about blogging is that it makes me reflect on my experiences to see if there is anything worth posting about. Here's a sweet little nugget:

One of my second grade boys: "Gosh Miss M. it must be hard being a teacher! Everyone is calling your name, and then there's people on the other side of the room who need help, and I need help, and it's crazy".

Yes, my sentiments exactly. Teaching IS hard, but so much fun, and totally worth all the work. I can't imagine leaving my students in December :(

La Belle Vie

Lately, I've been thinking about the title of my blog. La belle vie. The beautiful life...If you know me at all, you know that I am obsessed with all things French. I have been enamored with the french language since I was in eighth grade. I visited France in the summer before eleventh grade and fell in love. I fell in love with the history, architecture, the people and culture, and even a boy. Going to France literally changed my life, and helped me to appreciate life so much more. So when I decided to start a blog I asked myself, what do I love the most? My answer? France and life. I always liked the phrase, la belle vie, and even considered getting it as a tattoo (for a very brief period of time)..I'm glad I just chose the blog name instead). So La Belle Vie was born.

I initially started this blog as a way to organize my thoughts and keep track of things I enjoy. It's evolved a lot since my first post, and I hope it continues to change and grow. Sometimes I think my posts are pointless and mindless. Sometimes I feel pressured to post everyday. Sometimes I don't think I'm creative enough. Sometimes I want to put more of myself into my blog, but then I realize my blog is a version of myself. It combines things I enjoy, things that make me happy, and things that inspire me which really echo into my life. If I post an outfit, I usually try to emulate that. If I post a recipe, I'll remind myself to attempt it. I think that is what's so great about blogs. Yea at times, we might want our blog (and lives) to resemble the cool graphic designers, or the hip fashionista's...But at the end of the day, we're all blogging to have fun, and each of our blogs and lives are beautiful and unique in their own ways.

Blogging Confessions

1. I hate blogging without pictures
2. I use a lot of exclamation points and ellipses and have to consciously remove them
3. I turn my sound off when I go on a blog with music (no offense, I just can't multitask that well unless it's by choice)
4. Sometimes I feel like I spend too much time on blogger
5. I still hate the new Followers box
6. Sometimes blogging reminds me of high school
7. I like my posts brief and to the point (so if you ever want more details feel free to ask!)..there I go with the exclamation points again
8. I LOVE comments
9. But I'm a bad commenter on other people's blogs..but I promise I read them!
10. I love wedding and food blogs.... A lot!
11. Even though blogging takes time, and can sometimes be frustrating, I love it!

Thought I'd try out my own

Lately I've been obsessed with blogs..mostly fashion and interior design blogs..I thought I would try out my own to keep my thoughts organized. I've never been one to keep a journal, so this is the next best thing..we'll see how it works out!
