This weekend I watched Food Inc. Wow. Let's just say I'm ready to buy a farm and grow my own food! It was a very eye opening documentary about the American food industry. It covered several topics including food borne illness, obesity, factory farming and chemically engineered food. It really makes you think twice about what you are putting in your body. I can't believe some of the things that these major corporations do and are allowed to do. You just need to watch it! If you have seen it, share your thoughts!

I completely agree with you Lindsay! I had previously read the book The AntiCancer: A New Way of Life, and I thought American food was bad then, this movie pushed me over the edge. I can only imagine the change that we could all effect if we really paid attention to the food that we are eating. I think it is an amazing concept that this generation of kids is the first generation who are not expected to outlive their parents age. I think we could all benefit from this awesomely honest movie!
This movie really, really stuck out to me, and made me completely change my diet. While I don't always buy local, I try to as much as possible and have switched so 90% of my diet is organic. This movie angered me, sickened me, and made me really want to change!
Is this like Super Size me? I think I may just have to watch this.
Loved this documentary! Very eye opening to the food industry. I try to only eat grass-fed meat now, we like to call them happy chickens and happy cows!
I have not seen it. My husband did and said the same things you did. He told me not to watch it because I have a hard time watching animals being mistreated. He told me all about the poor chickens. I did watch the Oprah about this show though and that really prompted my attempted veganism lately. It's amazing how little we know about what we put in our bodies.
I felt the same way after watching this! Have you read Michael Pollan's "In Defense of Food?" it's a good compliment to this movie, explains a lot of the organic/food industry research.
My husband and I watched it and I loved, loved, loved it! It was educational and empowering and it really made you think about what we're willing to accept from these companies that produce what is meant to nourish us.
eek! you have my VERY intrigued! i'm thinking i will have to check it out!
ps. love all of your colors a couple of posts down. AND, the sun will soon be causing my freckles to stand out as well...i'm kind of excited :)
A good friend just recommended this to me last weekend. I probably will stop eating food if I see it.
