When life hands you lemons...

Life is hard sometimes. Really hard. Cancer (uncle). Divorce (parents). Worrying about employment. Not enough time in a a day to deal with everything. These are just a few things I've been dealing with lately. I haven't had the time or energy to blog, or read any blogs for that matter. But I feel out of my funk, and am ready to be inspired!

Now more than ever I'm relying on the little things in life to make me happy:

funny movies (Bride Wars & Despicable Me)
crepes
Gap socks (random, yes, but seriously the best socks ever)
Vampire Diaries is back tonight!
wine nights with my best
dry shampoo (latest obsession)
earmuffs
sunless tanner
Andy bringing me bagels and pizza back from his trip to Boston
bright nail polish (who wants to wait for Spring? not I)
Bruno Mars (listening to his cd on repeat like a 6 year old)

Hope you are all well! I can't wait to catch up on all of your blogs!

Aww I know exactly what you mean :( I've been dealing with my cousin's cancer since this past October (when we found out), and it is so hard seeing her health get worse as days go by. It has taken a toll on all of us, and I know that it makes it so hard to be motivated for anything else.

I'm sorry that you are going through all this, and as hard as some days may be, just try and remember that you have people around you who love you.

Let me know if you ever need someone to talk to! I know it helps me to talk to certain people who are not a part of my everyday life :)

Keep your head up - you are beautiful (in & out!)

Hey Lindsay, The little things are all that keep me going sometimes too. You should be proud of the fact that you are able to enjoy the little things. I am a strong believer that gratitude for what we do have in life, however small, makes us not only happier - but stronger, so when we do find ourselves in funks and difficult places we can turn to simple pleasures to find joy.

BTW, dry shampoo is pretty much the greatest thing ever!

I know how you feel, I think it's partly Winter too, that always puts me in a sort-of-funk.

I enjoy sunless tanner, funny movies, Gap socks (YES!), wine nights, and crepes...yum!

hang in there sweet girl! Life's been a doozy for me too, but it only makes us stronger, right?

p.s. mix a little vodka in that lemonade! :)

p.p.s. gap socks ARE the best! I love their knee high boot socks. amazing!

Stay strong, darling! You're going through a really tough patch, but things will turn around...they always do :)

Focusing on the little things, like you're doing in this post, will get you through everything.

I'm obsessed with dry shampoo, too. I need to find a brand that doesn't leave too much white powder in my hair. Also, I've been dreaming of bright colors and trench coats and dresses....but this morning i woke up to more snowfall.

And those wine nights, sweet boyfriends and Gap socks help it all :) Hope you're having a good day girlie!!

Oh I hope all these lovely comments are helping to bring you some sunshine.
Things that make me feel better:
-buying myself flowers
- wandering through shopping centres and buying only a ridiculous double chocolate chip peppermint frappucino
- finding new and pretty outfits for school

Wishing you a better week x

Glad you're trying to stay positive! That's the best thing to do. And little things that make us happy can be SO worth it. And I'm a believer that wine can totally make things better ;)

Sorry to hear about the yucky stuff. Sometimes things are tough but, they'll get better. I like your list of things to make you "happy" -- actually I LOVE it! You are making the best of things and that is awesome.
