The Kindle

I am intrigued by the Kindle. It is an electronic reading device that can hold up to 1,500 books. Like I said yesterday, I love books and I have a huge collection, but when I travel I am usually lugging around 3 or 4 really heavy books. I think the Kindle would be perfect for traveling, but that might be the only time I would use it.

Do you have one, or know anyone who has one? Thoughts?

I am a proud Kindle owner! I received mine as an early Christmas gift in 2008. My dad, an avid reader, bought himself one first after seeing it on Oprah's favorite things show. She has one, too and uses it during her travels.

I have the first Kindle version on the market (there is now a Kindle 2) and think it is the best investment for readers. Instead of lugging around several copies of books, everything is neatly stored in one device that is lightweight, easy to use, and is connected to the Internet. Books can be downloaded in a flash (about a minute or so) and are housed on both the Kindle and Amazon account. The books are much cheaper than your typical hardbacks in the bookstore (less than ten dollars).

I would highly recommend getting yourself one or putting it on your Christmas wish list!

I have a colleague that has one and she loves it. I think it's a cool idea but I really question how much I would use it outside of traveling as well. I think they are a little pricey too. It's really cool though and very easy to use.

I think these are awesome!

Don't know anyone who has one and I haven't used one myself, but this might just be a graduation present to myself... =)

I think they'd be fab for travelling, but there's nothing like reading a proper book, is there? It would annoy me reading a whole book on a little screen!

I think it's a good idea for a traveller , maybe it will be the future but I'm in love with books and I don't know if one day I will be one of the person who has it...but never say never!
